Hole Making

Spade Drills

Spade drills produce holes much faster and offer better chip control than twist drills. Special spade drills can be designed to drill forms or steps in one drilling application. Muskegon Tool designs and manufactures special spades for your unique application and stocks standard spades for immediate shipment.

Trepan Tools

Trepanning cuts only the circumference of the hole leaving a center core for other uses. It is faster and more economical to cut the circumference of deep holes rather than converting all of the material in a hole into chips.

Hole Finishing

Special Boring Bars

Muskegon's tools are well known for their ability to bore multi-diameter holes in one operation. Their design engineers utilize CAD to custom design tools for each customer's specific applications. Special boring bars can eliminate machining operations, saving time and money.

Block Style Boring

Muskegon Tool's block style tooling bores holes twice as fast as single point tooling. Dual cutting points provide twice the material removal rate while the balanced cutting forces improve hole roundness and straightness. There is virtually no tool wandering or deflection with block style cutters. Very close tolerances can be maintained throughout the hole.

Milling

Special Milling Cutters

Muskegon's specialty is designing and manufacturing special milling cutters. They can utilize indexable inserts or serrated blades depending on your configuration and surface finish requirements.

Replacement Serrated Blades

Muskegon has an entire team devoted to the production of serrated blades. Replacement blades are available in brazed carbide tipped or high speed steel styles. They also offer a wide variety of replacement wedges.

Threading

J & L Style Die Heads

Muskegon's die heads and chasers are the finest available. The J & L style die heads and chasers are precision ground for superior performance. Chasers have the helix ground in so no adjustment is necessary during set-up. The extra-long life of this system makes it a very economical choice.

Replacement Chasers

Muskegon Tool produces replacement J & L style chasers on the most advanced equipment available. They have streamlined the production process to provide very quick deliveries on chasers. In addition to standard thread sizes, Muskegon manufacture many special thread styles and sizes.

Cold Air Gun

Chilcut II

The Chilcut II cold air unit reduces standard shop compressed air temperature by 50 degrees to provide dry, coolant-free chilled air. Its applications are endless. Whenever you need dry, cooled air, Chilcut II gets the job done.
