National Conveyors Company, Inc. Vacuum Pneumatic Chip Collection & Conveying

Metal chips are sequentially collected from multiple collection points, such as machine tools, by a vacuum pneumatic conveying system which transports them through pipelines to a central receiving station where they are separated from the induced air flow and discharged into a disposal container storage bin or automatic loadout system. The conveying air flow generated by a mechanical blower is filtered prior to discharge into the atmosphere.

National's vacuum pneumatic chip conveying system offers these benefits:

  • No chip tub forklift traffic or labor required
  • Modular design - easily adaptable to different machine layouts, extended or reconfigured
  • Economical installed cost
  • Minimal space requirement
  • Clean working environment - no dusting
  • Low maintenance

National Conveyors Company, Inc. Metal Chip Briquetters

Advantages of Briquetting

  • Briquettes command a premium price from scrap recyclers
  • Reduced material handling and scrap transportation costs
  • Removal and reclamation of cutting oils and cutting fluids for reuse
  • Avoidance of environmental concerns associated with transport of wet chips
National Conveyors' metal chip briquetter

Briquetter Features

  • Outboard booster cylinders speed up the cycle time, resulting in higher capacities
  • Elevated hydraulic reservoir provides constant positive head for pump, preventing cavitation
  • Programmable control for automatic operation and consistent briquette quality

Accessory Equipment

  • Centrifuges (chip wringers) for removal of cutting fluids from chips prior to briquetting
  • Shredders and crushers for reducing stringy metal turnings to chips prior to briquetting
  • Feed and discharge conveyors
  • Separators for the removal of oversize material, solids and parts from chips
